Lemur and discovery tour (13 days)
The rainforest of Andasibe and Ranomafana passing by Canyon of Isalo and the terraced rice field of the highlands
Flora and fauna composed by lemurs, birds and others endemics animals throughout de protected areas.
Day 01: Transfer
A member of our team will welcome you and take you to your hotel, he will give the written program and some useful information.
Day 02: IFATY
The driver will pick you up and drive you to the airport for your flight to Southern Madagascar. On your arrival another driver will pick you up and drive you to your lodge and you can start for the activities to visit the spiny forest and discover the fauna and flora of the area .

Day 3: Ifaty
After breakfast we will discover the spiny forest. The area is endowed with some bird species such as the Long Tailed Ground Roller, Archblod’s Newtonia, Sub- Desert Mesite, some reptile species and lemurs .
Free leisure afternoon and Overnight at the same lodge.
Day 04: IFATY-RANOHIRA
We leave the coast and drive to the Northern to join Isalo National park The road is sidelined with baobab trees. Our first stop is at Zombitse Nation park , this deciduous dry forest attracts many tourists every year for his strange adaptation between the dry forest and the humid forest .The taxonomy of animal species living here is remarkable . 08 lemur species such as the Verreaux Sifaka , Red –fronted brown lemur and some 85 birds species including the rare birds as Appert’s Tetraka , Giant Couas,Cuckoo Roller … After the visit we will head to Ranohira passing through the rush village of sapphire called Ilakaka .

Day 05: VISIT ISALO NATIONAL PARK
With our local guide we choose carefully for you , you’ll hike to discover the lunar landscape . You will discover the awe-inspiring oasis , canyon and fall .This environment was created during the Jurassic period and predominent vegetation is the Pachypodium Rosulatum .This place also is the native habitat for the rare bird called Forest Rock Thrush (pseudocossyphus bensoni).The site is also home to some lemur species as Ring Tailed Lemur (Lemur Catta) and White Fronted Brown lemurs . Day 06: RANOHIRA-RANOMAFAMANA
Today we drive to the Ranomafana rainforest .Our first stop is at the Anja, a community-run Reserve which is famous for its Ring Tailed lemurs. In Ambalavao our next stop is at the handmade paper factory to discover how to produce Antaimoro paper. The process was introduced by the Arabic people long time ago which is still a common practice. This place is also famous for winery. Overnight at the lodge
Day 07: VISIT OF RANOMAFANA
Today with the local guide you will discover the Ranomafana rainforest. This park is located in the southeastern of the country with 41 600 hectares, home to several rare species of the flora and fauna. Various scientistific publications have been issued about this park. Several bird species inhabit the area including the Pitta Like Ground Roller, Scaly Ground Roller and some Other species of Vanga birds inhabit the area. You will be fascinated with lemurs as The Golden Bamboo Lemur , Milne Edward’s Sifaka common brown Lemur … In the evening spot the smallest primate species called Mouse Lemur and some varieties of chameleons .
Finally, visit the park research station called ValBio established in 2003 managed by Stony Brook University. This center helps local people for health and education.
Day 08: RANOMAFANA -ANTSIRABE
After breakfast, Travel to the famous RN N°7and drive to the North to the highlands. Enjoy the terraced rice paddies scenery. Visit the capital of the woodcarving handcrafts. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 09: ANTSIRABE -ANDASIBE
Before we leave Antsirabe we should have a short visit of this city of the Moroccan King Mohamed V was exiled in 1955 .A quick stop to visit the handcraft of zebu horn to make jewelry , spoons . After the visit drive to Andasibe national park discover the highland scenery with its mountains and see the typical villages and field workers Visit to Pyereras reptile farm which is famous for its species of chameleons and geckos. Founded by the French entomologist and naturalist André Peyreras. The collection includes the Flat tailed geckos , Golden Mantela and Parsons Chameleon the largest Chameleon ….Overnight at the lodge.
Day 10: VISIT ANDASIBE NATIONAL PARK
We will visit the Analamazaotra , in order to have the best observation conditions we leave to the hotel at 7.30 am. Spot the largest lemur species called Indri Indri or Babakoto . This lemur is endemic to the site and has become a symbol of the area. Through an easy hike lasting about 3 to 4hours. Then we search for other lemur species as Sifaka and common brown lemur and also birds … After lunch we continue to the lemur Vakona Island this is a rare opportunity to take a close look of the animal and interact with these primates. After the visit drive back to the lodge.
Day 11: ANDASIBE MANAMBATO
After breakfast we head to the Eastern part of the country to join the lake of RAVELOBE where the boat will wait for us for the transfer to Ankany ny Nofy (The nest of dream) throught the artificial channel dug by the Malagasy people during the colonial period. Ankany ny Nofy is located between the Indian Ocean and the Pangalane Channel . The ferry will take us and the ride is about 01 hour 30 min. Free leisure in the afternoon and Overnight at the lodge.
Day 12: VISIT PALMARIUM RESERVE
It’s really a nice place for a walk specially to see the Indri -Indri, Macaco lemurs, Black and white ruffed lemur and the famous carnivorous plant endemic to the country called Nepenthes . Free leisure in the afternoon. Overnight at the lodge .
Day 13: ANKANY NY NOFY-ANTANANARIVO-ABROAD
